Books such as The Scarlet Letter, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and various history materials will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom is a place where my students really enjoy reading together, taking turns. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I have listened to them as they have spoken about what kinds of things they would like to read about. With these new books, my students will be able read independently at their own grade level.
The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading.
My classroom has limited resources for history instruction. The history titles chosen will provide an foundation upon which I can build a solid and enriching history instruction.
My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent and group reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
