Pencil and paper are slowly becoming a thing of the past. I want to give my students the opportunity to explore the world of learning through technology and interactive resources. A majority of my students do not have access to any type of technology once they leave school. Their availability to use technology such as computers or iPads is limited during school due to the large student body and the limited amount of resources.
Providing my students with two iPads will have a tremendous positive impact on my students' learning experiences. I want them to learn to navigate technology so when they take their state assessments at the end of the school year they will be familiar and comfortable with the technology they will use to take their tests.
The use of technology makes learning fun. When students are engaged, they are more likely to retain the information presented to them. Not only do I want to be an effective teacher, but I also want to be the teacher who makes learning fun. I want to be the teacher who was able to provide these eager students with a small piece of hope that lets them know they have not been forgotten.
