I am a librarian at a high school with just over 1600 students. I teach Library Media Studies, an internship-type class where students help run the library while conducting research and completing projects, and - of course - I work with teachers and students throughout the school. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and countries of origin, and many come from low-income families. My partner librarian and I work hard to ensure that the library is open and offers equitable access to all of them. My goal is to promote literacy and a love of reading while helping students achieve their own goals. My students have unlimited potential, and I hope to match them up with stories that help them see themselves in roles they never imagined.
