Fourth grade students are full of energy and like to move a lot. They are also required to sit to read, sit to write, sit to listen. With this alternative seating, they can stay seated and do all the classroom activities necessary for academic success while still being able to move their bodies while they learn. Having alternative seating, such as the Wobble Cushions and Bouncy Bands for chairs, will allow students who need extra movement to focus in situations where they otherwise might not be able to. This flexible seating helps our classroom be more developmentally appropriate, it's easy for students to move around the classroom to wherever they need to work, it is safe, and doesn't take up a lot of space.
