Math is in everything! In our math walk we will be visiting the scenic Deanna Dana Friendship Park in the lovely San Pedro, CA with iPads in tow. This lovely nature preserve on the coast of Los Angeles county serves as a beacon to many of our students who rarely get to experience such beauty. However, we will be taking this beauty and magnifying it to show the proof that math is in everything at any grade level. Our students will be taking pictures of naural objects and researching animals in their natural habitat with their iPads. After which they will return to class to create a functional math journal (book if you will). This lesson will be taught over two to three months incorporating four key 4th grade common core math standards. Hence, taking the pictures, finding the research, printing the photos (using our new OfficeJet Pro 6968) and research is all utilized by the technology requested. Please help our students with this wonderful opportunity and experience they will never forget. Thank you for your time and consideration.
