My students learn best through play, interaction, and exploration. They get a sense of community with other kids their age, enhance their social skills and improve their attention. My goal is to get the necessary resources to make my classroom most conducive to learning.
With fun and engaging materials and a well-structured setting, not only will my students be able to navigate the classroom easily but also be free from distractions and be able to better attend to instruction. I can picture where everything will go. Manipulatives and other learning materials will be neatly stored in closed bins in the closets. My students will have to request them either verbally or through the use Picture Exchange Communication (ex. "I want__" board). This will improve their academic, social, and language skills.
The storage organizers will be utilized to improve the configuration of our bathroom in order to increase the efficiency of toilet training/changing. Class materials will be stored in the plastic storage drawers and individual students' belongings will be kept in the shoe organizer for easy access.
