My district consists of mostly Title I schools. Our access to technology is limited. However, we have a pilot program of 1-to-1 classrooms, for which teachers applied. I was fortunate enough to be awarded one! Our classroom has a class set of laptops for students to use in my room throughout the day. The problem is that the built-in touchpads on the laptops are finicky and difficult to use, and my students often find themselves frustrated by accidentally shrinking and enlarging screens and by being unsuccessful in selecting the intended text appropriately. My students could work much more efficiently if they had mice to use instead of touchpads.
