I am looking for creative, fun ways to help my students learn their letters and sounds. Games, manipulatives, and crafts are great ways to enforce what the students are learning in the classroom. Using these materials will help me motivate the students and give them a new variety of lessons. I have some student who struggle with learning their letters. I aim to use the games to reinforce what they are learning in their classrooms. I like the fact that they will have a fun, exciting way to learn, and I will be able to assess their progress at the same time. I have other students on my caseload who are focusing on comprehension. The comprehension game will be used on Fridays (I call it "Fun Friday") to practice what they have learned all week.
I aim to use a multi sensory approach when working with my students. A multisensory approach is one that integrates sensory activities. In essence, a multisensory approach incorporates the learning styles for visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile learners. I believe that students learn a new concept best when it is taught using the four modalities. The games, fidgets and tools that I requested will help me to teach my amazing students using this approach.
