My feeling is that as long as students are reading books, they are spending less time on their screens! So whatever books they ask for, I'd like to make sure that I have. Manga is all the craze now--I get asked about titles that I've never heard of. I do make sure that they are appropriate for a middle and high school setting. In addition to manga, and there are other graphic novel titles requested, too. One of these such books is last year's Newbery Award winner! We also have Spanish speakers who benefit greatly from having popular titles in their native language.
