My school is in a low income area. About 75% of the children at my school are on free/reduced lunch. Families at the school are struggling to get by, particularly in the state of our economy today. Many of my students have limited access to things like books and other school materials, and many don't have a computer in their home. Our school district has used our limited budget to make sure our classrooms have working computers and have been adding technology(Smart Boards, document cameras) to classrooms because we understand how important it is. Our children must not only be proficient in the three Rs, but they must also be proficient in using technology as it is a huge part of our lives now and will be even more important in the future. Our children need to be prepared to live and work in that wor
