Students here are full of love, energy, and hope. They are ready to learn how to build their empathy, listening, and social skills. They are quick to lend a helping hand and always willing to create connections with one another. They look out for one another, recognize the struggle many go through in life, and continue the fight to be good human beings who break the cycle of poverty, violence, and substance abuse. They deserve the best.
In their 7th grade transition class, students learn about empathy and bullying, the power of emotions and how it can be coped with and expressed in a healthy way, substance abuse and the physical effects of addiction. Additionally, they learn to encourage one another through team building activities, how to communicate kindly and respectfully to one another, and a group of peer support team members volunteer their time to simply listen to their peers in times of need.
