With the use of iPads, my students will be able to learn on a level and in a way that is specific to their needs. I have one student who is deaf and non-verbal. He uses sign language to communicate. But he is still young, and communication is a struggle for him. Using the iPad will better help him to communicate with the teachers and students in the classroom. I have another student who is visually impaired. It is a struggle for him to read, and his handwriting is not legible. Having the iPad will help him to see stories in large print and practice his handwriting with the many apps available.
Teaching students with special needs in the 21st century is challenging, but with the use of technology like iPads, I can better reach each student. IPads offer the technology to teach each student on the level their are best able to learn on. Working with students with different needs means I need to use as many different resources available to me. Incorporating iPads into learning will benefit all students.
