My students have a wide range of abilities. In an inclusive preschool you can have children that are developmentally under a year old with students that are reading and doing simple addition. Also, I have multiple students that do not fluently speak English and require hands-on materials to learn. The selection of toys that I chose will enhance the education of my wide range of students.
My students that are working on fine motor skills will use the Learning Resources Smart Snacks Alpha Pops and the Learning Resources Snap-n-Learn ABC Elephants to take them apart and put them back together. Some of my students are ready for letter identification and segmenting and blending words. With these materials I can have an inclusive grouping of children working together while some are building motor skills, some are working on letter identification, others are reading three letter words.
The same teaching strategies applies the the Learning Resources Snap-n-Learn Stacking Whales, Magna-Tiles 100-Piece Clear Colors Set , and Learning Resources Gears! Gears! Gears! Movin' Monkeys Building Set. These materials will scaffold children at their developmental level. Students can work on building elaborate structures to enhance their engineering skills while others are stacking items onto one another as they work and learn in an inclusive group.
