First and foremost is to give all students an opportunity to experience and see science first hand. This aquarium will continue to enhance a hands on approach that I strive to create in my classroom. My vision is to have a different aquarium at each of the lab stations. Students spend a majority of their time at these lab stations participating in labs and activities. The aquariums provide an opportunity for discussions regarding different environments, adaptations, chemical cycles, and interactions. Not only does it provide an education purpose but it also provides a calming environment for my students especially those that are taking my higher level science classes and may become overwhelmed at times. My students love having the aquariums in the classroom and I hope to continue adding them to the lab stations!
