Play and social emotional development are instrumental areas of focus in preschool. Play is a child's work. However, for some students, play and language skills may not come naturally. These simple games will help excite and engage my students to work on skills such as turn taking, waiting their turn and using their language as they navigate utilizing pro-social skills.
Play and language development often go hand in hand, so incorporating fun play activities to help students work on these skills will help their development in all areas!
These games will be used to small group pull out sessions utilizing one peer as a model and a few students who are still working on these skills. In this structured type of activity children begin to develop and understanding the appropriate way to wait and take turns, request a turn, interact and engage with peers and work on develop pro-social language and skills.
