My students need designated areas that they can call their own to be able to focus. Having flexible seating options will give them a choice, make them feel comfortable, and know their needs are being cared for.
The wobble chairs will allow the students a little room to move instead of seating in a stiff plastic chair. My students also have sensory issues, which causes the hard plastic chairs to be painful to them at times. The comfy floor seats and lap desks will give my students a tangible seat on the floor and provide the visual support that my students need to understand 'sitting' on the floor. The pencil grips would help with my students' fine motor skills and holding a writing utensil correctly. The sensory shapes will give my students an object that is pleasing to their senses and provides the needed support for their curriculum.
This flexible seating will also help the class run smoother since there will be less redirection from the aides and teacher. I want my students to love their class and take control of their learning.
