My students are most receptive to learning when they are comfortable and/or enjoying an activity during interactions with teachers or support staff. The ultimate benefit of me utilizing Therapeutic games for my classroom such as Jenga, Connect 4, Uno, arts and crafts supplies, paint, etc. is that the kids can relax themselves and have fun while learning. I'm a counselor, so a big portion of my job is to enable students to express themselves openly and comfortably. As a service provider in an educational setting, I have to adapt to their learning styles. If the kids cannot touch it, feel it, see it, or taste it, it can be hard to reach them. I also want toys in my classroom to be utilized for incentives for when kids are making progress towards behavior support plans or participating fully during group intervention.
