The materials in this project will help to give students who are early learners hands on experiences that are engaging and fun while still being meaningful. Students will have so much fun putting together Alligators while learning letter names and how to match the upper and lowercase letters. Working on letter sounds using the hands on buckets will make learning fun for students who need those hands on experiences! All of these tools will greatly help our learners to work at their individual pace and help to meet them at their level while pushing them onto the next!
By donating to our project you will be helping make students feel comfortable in the library space and give them the necessary right tools to help them develop a love of reading! The bean bag chairs and teepee will help set the environment in our library to make students more comfortable while reading. I would like to see students interacting with books every day, feeling comfortable to choose a book and read or look through it in a comfortable environment that is also conducive to learning.
The leveled books requested in this project give even our earliest learners access to reading by giving them the opportunity to open up a beautiful book that has text on their level and does not make them feel intimidated. Many books in our library at this time are too difficult for our students to read so these would allow so many more students to engage in reading!
