I am currently teaching 1st grade and I absolutely love it. I teach in a Title one school, meaning that in our school over 90% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch due to the their parents qualifying as low income. Although our students sometimes face overwhelming obstacles at home it does not impede them to always strive to do their best. I have to say I have the smartest, most hardworking first graders in the world. My job means the world to me and working with my students is my life's passion. However, as a teacher trying to provide the best education possible for my students, I still find it a bit challenging due to the slow progress of getting back to pre-budget cut times. We still haven't fully financially recovered enough to be able to purchase what would be considered luxuries to some but a necessity to me. Thank goodness for Donor's Choose!!!
