An elementary day is packed full of reading, writing, math, science, and social studies learning. This sadly leaves very little time for art education. This is why our 4/5 and 5th grade team created Enrichment Fridays. Each of us has unique talents and expertise in areas that don't exactly fit the traditional elementary school curriculum but are vital in the development of well rounded, future leaders of our world. Through the funding of this project, we will be able to get much-needed art supplies to support the art rotation of our Enrichment Friday program. This project will give us sharpies, gel pens, metallic markers, art erasers, calligraphy pens, and bins for 110 4th and 5th graders to use to create amazing art.
Students should have the opportunity to express themselves creatively, and all too often art is left for last and forgotten.
Through our Enrichment Friday art rotation, students will get the opportunity to learn basic art principles, and more importantly, will get to express themselves through different mediums and let their creativity shine.
With these materials, every Friday afternoon, all our 5th graders will get to rotate to the art room and create amazing masterpieces. They will get to see what if feels like to finish an art project and have it proudly displayed around our school campus. Art is so important; through it students learn so much more than just technique. Help us give our students the creative outlet they need.
