Every week we do centers in class. At least one of these centers requires them to read a story, a non fiction text or a short book. But in second grade there are a lot of kids that struggle to read, specially at the beginning of the year. Thankfully, there are a lot of apps, webpages and programs that can read to them.
Help me reach those kids that struggle with reading but love to learn. This year, only about 10 students in my 3 groups were able to buy & bring their own headphones to school due to their families low incomes. This meant that the grand majority had to be working without them and kept struggling to listen and focus on the readings while other students worked in other centers. With these headphones I plan to motivate and encourage them to go back and learn being able to take advantage of the programs and apps at their fullest so they can absorb and learn all they can even if they are unable to read by themselves.
