It is important to develop the body, as well as the brain of a kindergartner. We all know how important it is to keep our bodies active, strong, and healthy; and extensive research has been able to identify the link between movement and cognitive development. A Geodome will provide my students with the opportunity to develop skills such as eye-hand coordination, balance, strength, flexibility and reaction time. Not to mention social skills like, sportsmanship, cooperative play and self confidence.
Let's go climb on the Geodome! Little do they know, the development of their eye-hand coordination, as they are climbing from bar to bar, can transfer into the classroom as beautiful writing/penmanship and improve their ability to "track" while they are reading. Things like cooperative play, will help them work in collaborative groups and problem solve, which are life skills they will need, not only in the classroom but in the workforce someday.
Lets improve brain function and cognition though movement, while climbing around on a Geodome!
