The materials I am requesting for the band program will be used the second it gets into our hands! Tuning is a very important aspect for students to learn, especially starting at a young age. The tuners will be used daily by our students in the band program. This project will help us immensely with starting our classroom set. Our end-goal is to get at least 40 tuners as a classroom set by the end of the year, which will allow each student in each class to have a tuner in front of them. The nice thing about these tuners is that they also serve as a metronome. As many of you know, keeping a steady beat is very important in a musical setting! Otherwise, the sounds would be noise. Along with the tuners on the list are rechargeable batteries (for the tuners) and a tuner pick-up cord. Since tuners pick up any vibrations in the room, it is important to have a tuner pick-up cord to eliminate all vibrations feeding into the tuner other than the instrument the cord is attached to.
