My class is full of kindergartners who come to school daily full of life and energy. They are ready to learn! Adults get tired of sitting in hard, plastic chairs, and I can ensure you that the students do as well! Studies have shown that students are better able to learn when they are physically active and comfortable.
Some flexible seating options I want to offer include exercise balls, wobble cushions, donut chairs, lap desks, and floor cushions.
These options will allow my students to choose a comfortable and flexible seat that will help them engage in our activities and lessons. Along with the flexible seating options, I will still have a table of "normal" chairs for the students who would prefer to sit there, while also providing fidget bands for the legs of those chairs.
I cannot wait to see the success that will come from having flexible seating in our classroom!
