By the second day of school I could see my students' faces brighten when we discussed the illustrations of a poem, The Purple Cow. So I tried it! During recess I rummaged through the backs of closets and found old, crusty watercolors and we made our own pictures of what we would like to see if we could imagine anything. Their pictures were inspiring. From that experience, it lead me to ask for your support in fostering their talent. I would like to do 5 specific art projects all based upon self-esteem and respect for other cultures.
