In middle school science, we have 50 minutes for each class period. As a teacher, I have noticed a huge opportunity to capitalize on this instructional time by expediting the process of distributing hands-on materials.
By placing materials in these seat pockets, 5-10 minutes of precious instructional time can be saved each period, every day. As I build my resources in the room, I want to find an efficient and simple way to get materials to my classes of 35+ students.
Additionally hands-on plant grower will allow students to see the process of plant growth in real-time. In a classroom with no windows, I work to provide as many opportunities to see science in action as possible.
