Every day, my students travel from room to room together. It is their first year in middle school and their first year in a class of almost 30 — double the amount of classmates they had in their self contained classes in previous years. I travel with them, trying to support them in the way I know they are used to learning — in interactive and engaging ways, breaking down the grade level teacher’s lessons in a way that makes sense. I am not asking much — a large white board to run our ELA small groups, one that rolls so if I need to bring it to another room or even in the hall I can. It’s important for me to be flexible and to carry all of my materials — lessons, supplies, to all the rooms we go in. The cart will help a lot with that. And small white boards and markers for my students to use. So that they can build confidence in their writing, spelling, and even math, and practice writing down their answers and being able to confirm if they are correct without commit it to paper and being frustrated if they are not. I know my students will benefit from these materials and I thank you for any help in obtaining them.
