Our robotics team is partnering with engineers from the Department of Defense and engineering students from Lafayette College to design, build, and code a robot for a national competition. Having the opportunity to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition teaches application of the principles learned in school, and provides mentoring opportunities with local professionals.
Students will learn not only principles of designing, engineering, and computer engineering, but how to work effectively as a team to brainstorm solutions to problems, to share responsibility in a project, and how to collaborate, compromise, and contribute meaningful work.
The students, engineers, and teachers are prepared to give their time and talents to provide this experience to our team of ambitious high school students. Please help them by providing tools for them to work with, such as a drill, screwdrivers, socket wrenches, and soldering irons.
