Hi everyone! Thank you for taking the time to look at our classrooms Donorschoose.
As many of you know there is just not enough time in the day for all the great book there are. I have two projects that I do in my classroom to help extend the learning to home. The first project is a free book of the month for every kid. The second project is, take home buddy bags filled with books and activities.
For the past 2 years I have collected donations so that I was able to give every student in my class a book every month to take home! The kids LOVE getting these books and are always excited when they hear that they get to KEEP them! Over the past 2 years, with all the great donations, I have been able to give out over 350 books to kids in my classroom. This year Scholastic is not offering the $1 books as often. So my donations are not going as far as I thought they would go. This would help me continue giving out a free book a month for every kid!
In addition to this, I have started take home "Buddy Bags" these bags are filled with books and activities that extend the learning to home. The students get to take a bag home over the weekend. They then return it to school and get to take a new bag the following weekend. We would love to create more bags for the kids to enjoy. We have many different bags, including shapes, letters, numbers, counting, Arthur, Pete The Cat and more. One bag that I really want to add to our collection would be an Elephant & Piggie bag.
Thank you for your donations!
