STEAM lab is a brand new class with no supplies for my students. This class focuses on project-based learning to integrate all the components of STEAM. I need supplies and kits for branching into more intricate activities and projects for my students. The class is composed of new curriculum for the school for grades 6th through 8th. The students at Chamblee Middle School come from all backgrounds with third of population of lower economic homes and majority being minorities. The supplies such as markers, paper, volcano kits, art plaster, and an amber fossil lab would be used in creating students' projects such as crash cars, kaleidoscopes, volcanoes, ocean floor diagrams, periscopes, and fossil imprints. These supplies will allow students to make more hands-on projects by applying their knowledge in a fun atmosphere similar to Ms. Frizzle or Dr. Bill Nye labs. The STEAM lab is a new adventure for my school and the supplies would make for more interesting labs, projects, and activities for my students.
