I am an elementary school counselor. The students didn’t have many opportunities to develop social skills while learning from home. This project will help students identify their feelings and offer a forum to practice social skills in a safe place. The sand tray is a project where they can create their space and explore different scenarios. The books can help me teach social emotional learning through 1:1 conversations, small group, and classroom visits. They are tools that offer sensory play and creative thinking. In some cases they will open up their world through the sand play.
