My project is to use materials for encouraging students' learning and being successful at understanding concepts. These will be used during small group instruction and "hands on" cooperative learning stations, in which the students love so much and look forward to every day! The dry erase lap boards and dry erase board erasers can be used for all subject areas to construct correct sentence structure, spelling words, and solving math problems. The magnetic tens frames and 1 to 120 pocket chart can be used for counting. Geoboards and shape templates will be used to discover shapes. The number balance will be used for understanding equality. The bucket balance is for measuring. Counting bears, fact family dry erase boards, big foam dice and pattern block cards will be used for counting, creating patterns, and understanding subtraction in relation to addition. Our classes have enjoyed these same materials so much in the past, that they have become very worn and tattered to the point that some of these exciting products can no longer be used by the students. We are in need of replacing the old and worn with the new and exciting to make our students' learning more fulfilling and challenging. All these materials can and will help the students bond with each other, learn to work together as a team by compromising, and most of all, they help increase each individuals learning style by discovering, analyzing and drawing conclusions.
