In this unusual school year, students in our class are learning both at home and at school. As a result, classes are held synchronously with students both in person and remotely. We are finding in our classroom that traditional methods of instruction are not as effective for the students who are learning in a remote environment. Teachers are struggling to manage sharing their screens and being able to view student participants on while on Zoom. Because of that, we are missing students questions and having difficulty checking in with individual students for understanding.
Another monitor will allow me to show my screen and lessons to ALL students, while simultaneously being able to see their faces and interact with them.
I will be able to share math strategies while checking for understanding both with the students who are in class and the ones who are on Zoom. As a result, remote students will feel more involved in the classroom and receive the education they deserve.
