Many of our students don't have the opportunities to use technology at home. Technology gives them the opportunity to feel part of the technology world today especially in the classrooms. Students will feel connected and magnetized to learning once they are discovering different worlds through the internet. Research and learning will be facilitated through a connection bigger than just a textbook.
With these tablets, students can also benefit from using programs such as Skype to give them real word experiences. As field trips can sometimes be hard to do or too expensive for some, they can do virtual directed field trips. Students would benefit from connecting what they are learning to real world experiences.
For some students who struggle with writing skills and spelling, these tablets will help them communicate better. They are another method for them to learn. They will use them in class for group assignments, therefore teaching them cooperation skills and how to work together. These tablets also allows them to use programs that will enhance and enrich their reading and math skills.
