Students will learn the art of cooking through baking sweet treats, and to become acting coffee baristas through technique and experimentation. These will become valuable life lessons for adult living.
Treats will be used to serve others in the school on a classroom coffee cart. Students will learn to read recipes and prepare grocery list to make tasty treats and drinks. After planning students will produce food and beverages to sell to others on a classroom coffee cart. This will give students the opportunity to learn not only to cook, but also to exchange money such as necessary to become a cashier.
The stove and the refrigerator will help provide students with the experience of becoming a coffee barista and opening the doorway of future employment for independent living. This gives students a unique advantage in future endeavors.
