This will allow my students an opportunity to check out books from the class versus the library. Some of the students can't get books due to fines that their families can't pay. The students get to choose from very old books that they are not engaged in and they really want to read what they are hearing about from their friends.
Reading is a way to see the world without ever leaving home. My students don't always see the outside of our town. This is a way for them to explore and be equal to students who have the resources to purchase or check out current book titles.
It would add to my personal library. I have ordered and paid for many books for my students, yet I still don't have enough. This will enhance my classroom by letting students have more free choice in their reading selections.
