I am an American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor. I teach the AHA HeartSaver program to my Advanced Health students and the Hands-Only CPR school-based program for my Health students. These units are a favorite among my students.
In order to better prepare my students to perform basic first aid skills and CPR (adult, child & infant), I am requesting some educational tools.
I am requesting some CPR compression monitors that students can wear on their wrist to track their compression rate. The AHA now requires compression feedback for certification and these monitors would help me track that. I am also requesting a tool that helps teach students how to do accurate abdominal thrusts on a person who is choking. It is difficult to teach abdominal thrusts authentically, because you cannot perform the skills on another person without making them throw-up or injuring them. The anti-choking practice vest would give them the chance to practice this skill in a realistic manner without hurting their classmate. I feel that these tools would be beneficial to my classroom and my teaching.
Thank you for your consideration!
