My Music Industry/Tech students need a good DSLR to learn about filming, photography, and editing to foster creativity, perspective, and grit. Using our Music Department's multiple performances, students will have a busy training ground to hone in their creativity and learn valuable skills with the production and promotional side of music. Self promotion, entrepreneurship, and online presence are a key ingredient for success in the local music scenes across the country and can be a launchpad for a sustainable career. Whether a student chooses performance, communications, or music industry, skills with filming, photography and editing are necessary for a strong foundation. In a world where college expectations, consumption, job availability, and industry are no longer stable, fostering creativity, perspective, and grit will continue to be the bedrock of all success.
