Intuitively, it makes sense to offer today’s child multiple options to feel comfortable, safe and relaxed in their learning environment.
Flexible seating, wobble chairs and balance balls, allows kids to choose where they learn best and to work comfortably. It also allows for more collaboration in the classroom. Flexible seating allows students to quickly and easily pair up, work in small groups, or discuss as a whole class.
I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk. I would love to provide my students with more options for seating the classroom.
