I have been teaching students with special needs for the past 5 years and I am convinced they have taught me more than I could have ever taught them. This year my class is made up of 12 students with very diverse needs, from Autism and Hearing Impairments to severe Speech and Physical Difficulties and Learning Disabilities. They also come from a high poverty neighborhood and many of them speak little English due to the high ESL (English Second Language) need in my school.
