These picture dictionaries will help my students expand their understanding of English. All too often, my newcomers get stuck on vocabulary while reading. Because there is only one of me, I can't always rush to their aid. However, with these dictionaries, they will be able to help themselves. Believe it or not, my students LOVE looking at picture dictionaries! I currently have a couple of older copies, and many of my students will use them to create flashcards and other study aids on their own time. If that doesn't show you how great these kids are, I don't know what will! Now, I know that requesting a game may sound strange. However, Scattergories will get even my most shy students to participate! I tend to use it as an incentive. It's perfect for ESL because it's fun, it engages students with different learning styles, and it allows students to test their vocabulary knowledge.
