Many classroom teachers, such as I, have started to offer flexible seating and the results are amazing. I would like to add a few more options to continue to offer my students choices in the classroom. I believe that flexible seating provides options that allow students to be active, engaged and responsible learners. Kindergarten expectations have changed so much since I started teaching in 1999. With that being said, it is hard for a typical 5-year-old to sit still at a traditional desk/table all day. The requested wobble chairs and soft cushions will help create an environment students can thrive in, as they learn to choose options that best meet their needs as a learner. Flexible seating allows students to have control over their learning experience! It is also a great way to incorporate leadership skills!!!
