The students of my high school want to learn to make functional ware that can be used to eat from. Our current ceramic department is in a modest portable while we await the construction of our new school. Our students create beautiful sculptural work, but need food safe glazes (Potter's Choice) made for pottery to create useful wares. They are currently working on platters and bowls to share with their families over the holidays.
Help them reach this goal of putting functional wares on their family tables for this coming holiday season.
The kids come from a very diverse and working class background. Ceramics class provides them with a much needed peaceful place to express themselves. These supplies will give the kids the opportunity to share their unique talents and celebrate their diverse backgrounds.
Many thanks,
Ms. Shokrai
