The use of robotics and programming is a daily activity in my classroom, especially with my 5th through 8th grade students. My students work in centers which they rotate through every two weeks. One of the most highly anticipated activities is the use of Sphero robots to create a variety of projects. These projects are often cross-curricular and involve arts integration. For example, in the past, students have programmed Sphero robots to dance in sync with music created in another program during music class. We also use robotics during our recess and after school maker space program. This is a highly sought after robot that we haven't been able to use. Unfortunately, all of our batteries have reached end of life and are not able to be replaced. The donations to this project will help our students to create engaging projects which utilize critical thinking skills in the important field of computer science.
