When we read a book, we find the coziest spot and get comfortable. That's what I want for my students. Being able to use alternate seating will offer a fun alternative to boring desks and hard chairs.
Allowing kids freedom in not only choosing their own books but also in choosing where they read encourages them to read more. Kids who read become better readers. Better readers make better students. Better students are more successful
I have some options for alternate seating in my classroom, and its always a race to see who can get to it first. By implementing more seating into my classroom, I will be able to offer my students more choices, allow them more movement within the classroom, and even encourage more cooperation among students.
