Filament for the 3Doodler Start pens are needed so that students can draw a 3D model of Ivan from the book, The One and Only Ivan. Also needed are craft sticks, pipe cleaners and yarn to create a new habitat for Ivan. We need makerspace supplies so my students can solve problems. For example, making a comfortable pencil grip for their pencil because their "hand is so tired from all of the writing they are doing". With makerspace supplies, my students can continue to be innovators and great writers!
My class has outdated, traditional tables and chairs that don't accommodate the different activities we do for STEAM learning. The furniture is not conducive to a 21st century learning environment. My class can barely hold 30 students with our outdated furniture which can impede collaboration. The seating doesn't accommodate students that need more movement for learning. Studies show that students allowed to "fidget" are able to focus more. Imagine having an itch and not being able to scratch it. That's what it is like for students who have to move while learning. With Hokki Stools, students will be able to focus more and need less redirection.
