This year I have moved our three classroom desktop computers to a higher counter space we have in our room. I love having the students work at these computers because they are separated from one another and it truly helps them focus more on their own work. In the past, the computers were squeezed together on a small table and it was difficult for students to stay engaged in their learning, have room to move the mouse, etc.
I would like to provide students with a flexible seating option for the computers. Currently students stand while using these three desktops, but I would love to provide them with a sturdy counter height stool as another option. Although some students enjoy standing as they work, after some time many are ready to sit. I would like to have a stool at each computer station to increase student choice and comfort as they work. I feel having this choice will help increase student stamina as they try to solve difficult math problems or read articles and answer questions.
