The recent hurricane (Michael) destroyed our listening center, with mold and water. Having a Listening Center in my classroom will now allow my students to continue their love of listening, retelling, and writing about some of their favorite stories.
Before the storm, students looked forward to their turn to listen and learn about a favorite story. We do not have a functioning listening center now. A new CD player, along with headphones and a few CDs will go a long way to helping us get back on track for making a difference in fostering reading skills and fluency needed for developing readers. What a difference this could make, and surely create smiles and encouragement for some deserving sweet children!
