Students enrolled in this program of study are from a wide variety of demographics including a high percentage from low income families. They are enthusiastic about improving their lives while seeking a better future. This grant would impact knowledge of applied academics as well as enhance self-confidence toward 'career readiness'.
Students will have a vision with pathways to lifelong learning with facts, skills and lab applications of direct relationships in math, science, food chemistry, commercial food preservation, packaging and food marketing.
Students are also interested in the standards that should be maintained and applied toward more flavorful culinary principles/techniques. Students will gain 'hands-on' experience with food service operations -including meal management while following ServeSAFE regulations and guidelines through the life-cycle.
