We chose math manipulatives to help us develop games that our students will love. My students and their families often say they hate math and we want to change this! The development of early numeracy can enhance students appreciation of the exciting and fun nature of math, and can help parents and other family members see that math can be enjoyable.
By making kits the students can check out and take home to play fun, engaging math games with their families we can help them develop early numeracy skills which are critical to their continued success in school and teach their families that "Everyone Can Love Math".
